Projects

Since 2001, the 3G Group has developed 25 wind and solar projects from Newfoundland to British Columbia.  Eight of these projects are already in operation or are approved for construction

Solar Industry - Ontario Projects

Commercial Rooftop Project in Ottawa

Our first commercial rooftop solar project is under development on Tremblay Road adjacent to the Ottawa train station and Highway 417. The project has been accepted by the Ontario Power Authority and commercial operations are scheduled to begin in July, 2010.

This project will feature the 230 Watt CS6P panel produced by Canadian Solar Inc.  It is among the most efficient in the industry.

Ground Mount Solar Projects

3G is working with in joint venture with Canadian Solar Solutions on megawatt scale solar projects:

Alfred, Ontario - 10 MW

This is one of the first megawatt scale solar projects accepted by the Ontario Power Authority under the FIT program in April, 2010. A joint venture between 3G and Canadian Solar Inc., this project is now undergoing environmental review and pre-development engineering.

Trail Road Landfill, City of Ottawa,  Ontario - 7 MW

3G and Energy Ottawa undertook a feasibility study leading toward building a solar farm on the 44 acre Trail Road landfill site. Landfill operations were ended at this site in the mid-1990's and the City of Ottawa was searching for a solution to the brownfield status of this land .  3G Energy partnered with Energy Ottawa in 2008 and organized a feasibility study with inputs from Queens University and the Ontario Center of Excellence.  In June 2010, 3G sold its interest in the project to Energy Ottawa.  Energy Ottawa is applying for a FIT contract.
